Tonight your 2012 Norfolk Admirals drop the puck against the Worcester Sharks to start 2012 campaign! It's not only the opening night but it's Military Appreciation night and the Calder Cup Banner will be dropped from the rafters before the opening faceoff.

The Sharks are looking for a quick start as they hope to rebound from a dismal season where they finished with a record of 31-34-4-8 good enough for just 74 points. The Admirals on the other hand are coming off a post-season affiliaton Change after which the team broke multiple league and team records on their magical run to capturing their first-ever Calder Cup Championship.
While the names on the back of the sweaters might be different fans must remember we are the Champions and it's time to turn the page on a new chapter in Admirals history, Afterall their is a title to defend! In additon, the Admirals also currently hold the longest winning streak in AHL history 28 consecutive regular season victories and with an opening night victory the streak will continue!
